This is a TWO DAY lesson designed to have your students "hike" the Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. You can have them hike all around your school campus or stay in your classroom.
On Day 1, your will students will: locate Peru on a map, start their journey by "flying" into Cusco, take a train ride from Ollantaytambo to Kilometer 104, see Inca ruins, arrive through the Sun Gate, and see Machu Picchu from a distance.
On Day 2, students will pretend to explore the archeological site and learn about the history of Machu Picchu.
There are 45 slides of information and real photos, 16 exclusive videos, 2 drawing activities, a bulletin board idea and optional Lego activity.
It's designed for kids ages 5-9 years old.
