📲The New Teacher App that's a Game Changer

Hi Reader,

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! I hope you feel appreciated every day as an educator, but this week especially. 💕

Ople: The New Teacher App

I'm excited to share about a new mobile app I recently came across that is made for teachers. Ople is designed to connect educators so they can share what works in their classrooms. It was first released in October 2024, is currently available in North America, and will be available worldwide soon.

Ople is similiar to Instagram and TikTok reels where you can share short (10 seconds - 5 minute) videos but is for PK-12th grade educators. I had the privilege of speaking with co-founder Lindsay Danon a few weeks ago. We talked about how this app will be a game-changer for how teachers can connect and share ideas. After using this app for a few weeks now, here are some things I love about it:

  • Connecting with teachers only (I love Instagram but it can get saturated with non-teacher related content especially if you use it for other purposes)
  • My Collections section- See a video you like? Save it under My Collections and create different categories for these videos to stay organized.
  • It was created by educators who KNOW what teachers need

I have a referral code linked HERE for Ople, or you can type it in manually: https://link.ople.us/5pBKY

*It's free to join and I receive a small commission for referrals. I'd greatly appreciate you using my link if you care to join. ❤️

I know you’ve got some great teacher ideas (think bulletin boards, meaningful lessons, units, self-care, etc.) so get on the app and share them with others! See you on Ople? 🙌🏻

Let me know if you have any questions. Have a wonderful week!

Hi Reader, This week I am going to let one of my students take over teaching. Why? Because it's almost the end of the year and I'm exhausted...KIDDING! 🤣 My class will be "traveling" to Haiti on Friday. Several of my classroom families are from Haiti. One of my students, Laurryn, is extremely proud that her dad is from there. Her eyes lit up when I told the class last week we were heading to Haiti...the class has been waiting all year for this day! 🤔So how I am going to have a 6 year old...

Hi Reader, It's hard to believe, but here we are, just a few weeks from the finish line. You've taught lessons, wiped tears, tied shoes, cheered kids on, and probably answered a thousand questions a day. You've shown up, even on the hardest mornings. And you've created a space where your students feel safe, seen, and inspired. That's not small. That's magic. These final weeks can feel long and emotional- full of energy, excitement, and exhaustion. But they're also a time of celebration,...

Hi Reader, For years I struggled with teaching my students about social studies. It's the reason why I started creating Passport Adventures for my students. But today I want to share with you another resource that has made a huge impact on my class. 🤯 Recently, Jess Wurzbacher, connected with me on Instagram (gotta love social media!) to tell me about Reach the World. She's the manager of the K-12 programs for this incredible organization. Reach the World uses global networking to connect...
